July 28 // Aaron Nagel Print Release

 

We just put up an amazing new print from Aaron Nagel. This is one of our largest prints at 24" x 24" with a 2" border and is a very limited run of 20. It took a bit of time and care to make sure this print was true to the original painting and we couldn't be more happy with the results. We hope you enjoy it half as much as we do.

July 12 // Yoskay Print Release

Brett Amory & Upcoming Releases

 

Brett Amory - "Waiting #53"

Paper Tiger's latest print release is by San Francisco-based artist, Brett Amory. Brett graduated from the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco in 2005 and has participated in several gallery shows around the U.S. including Art Basel in Miami, Florida. He has also been published along with a few other artists in a book titled, "Convergence" and has had book signings in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. His paintings explore people integrated in contemporary spaces that emote a mood and atmosphere within the paintings.

New Print by Alexandros Vasmoulakis

Our newest release features the art of Alexandros Vasmoulakis titled "Stop Nagging". Alexandros is a young artist from Greece who works with painting, illustration, collage, mixed media, photography, digital art, sculpture as well as street art working with large-scale paintings on buildings.

Silkscreen Print by Sal

 

Born in Hyogo Japan, Sal started painting in his twenties. His work, heavily influenced by the aesthetic of Edo period painting, is especially reminiscent of gilt Byobu or folding screens. Departing from the narrative formality of the screens, his urgent dynamism and fragmentation suggest a freedom unmistakably Japenese and essentially modern.

 

The element qualities of Sal's work reflect his deeply contemplative practice. The dark foliage and wind whipped moments evoke the great forest scenes of Kurosawa, beautifully still yet filled with explosive potential.
